So, I'm tired of never having the right sized loom for what I do. The commercial ones are too short or narrow, and the big one that was a gift to me from my favorite art teacher and friend currently has a project on it that I'm not willing to pull.

At Home Depot I found a piece of peg board, and got it cut into quarters. I picked up a dowel rod, and had it cut into thirds (though I think I need to trim the pieces a bit), and lastly I found some eye bolts (ring bolts) to finish the project.

New pegboard loom
The new loom. 1ft wide by 2ft long. Plenty of space to spread out or up or make small custom pieces. And I have four of the boards (because they pretty much insist you take the whole piece if it's more than a scrap) so if I get more bolts and dowel pieces, I can have up to four loomed projects up at a time.

a closer look
This is a play piece I started to see how well the idea worked - and to kill time while I was waiting for my laundry to dry. It worked up nicely. And if I can figure out how to thread it to make a continuous piece, I could create a piece double the length of the board without needing to pull in a second board. The possibilities with this are... maybe not endless, but certainly expansive!
